Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were contacted by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities said they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for details.

An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
